NOSE PIERCINGS
Another chance to put a ring on it. Which nose piercing fits your style?
TYPES OF NOSE PIERCINGS
Before you book an appointment, decide what nose piercing is right for you.
Nostril
Placed through the nasal ala, the cartilage that covers the nostril. The exact placement depends on your anatomy and the aesthetic you have in mind.
Choose between a range of different stud styles for your first piece of jewelry.
Septum
The septum is a piece of cartilage that separates the right and left sides of the nose. A septum piercing goes through the columella, a piece of soft tissue just below the end of the septum.
The first piece of jewelry is usually a clicker or captive bead ring.
Bridge
Placed across the bridge of the nose usually at the narrowest spot between the eyes. Considered a surface piercing, it goes through tissue instead of cartilage like other nose piercings.
The first piece of jewelry is usually a straight barbell.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT JEWELRY
Your piercer will recommend the best option for the initial jewelry. Generally, a simple style that will be easy to clean and take care of as the piercing heals is the ideal choice for most people. We recommend sticking with hypoallergenic metals like titanium or 14K gold until the piercing is fully healed. After the healing period, you’re free to experiment with different styles to find the look that fits your vibe.
Remember: To encourage proper healing and maintain the integrity and placement of your piercing, it’s important to wear jewelry that is specifically designed for nose piercings.

TWIST STUDS
Also known as nose screws, twist studs with a curved post are comfortable, easy to clean and secure. They can even be adjusted to fit your unique nose shape. L-shaped studs have similar benefits.
CIRCULAR BARBELLS
Most popular for septum piercings, a circular barbell can sometimes work with a nostril piercing as well. Worn with the two ends facing out, it can give the illusion of a double nostril piercing.
STRAIGHT STUDS
A threadless straight post is a versatile choice that can give you the option to easily change the stud without taking out the post. The stud simply snaps in and out of the hollow post.
HOOPS
Clicker hoops and captive bead ring (CBR) styles are both popular options for nostril piercings. They can be subtle and delicate or make a statement with gemstone detailing.

HEALING & AFTERCARE FOR NOSE PIERCINGS
Just like any piercing, a nostril piercing requires time and a gentle touch to heal properly. To clean:
- Clean twice a day with a piercing cleaning solution
- Remember to wash your hands before touching the piercing
- Clean both the inside and outside of your nostril
- Gently clean the jewelry itself with a mild soap or jewelry cleaner every day
Remember, everyone heals at their own pace, so keep an eye on your progress to get an idea of when you’re in the clear and can think about changing out your jewelry. It’s best to avoid soaking the piercing in water during the healing period, so steer clear of swimming pools, hot tubs, and baths for the first couple of months. If you need an expert opinion, book a follow-up appointment with a piercer to check on healing.
HOW MUCH IS A NOSE PIERCING?
A nose piercing can cost up to $60 depending on the location. Piercing jewelry is an additional cost and will depend on the piece you pick out. Book a consultation to discuss the placement and jewelry options to get a more accurate quote for the cost of your unique nose piercing.
